Anti-Saudi protests in Iran as row smoulders

Shiites also protested in the Saudi city of Qatif, near the hometown of the executed sheikh, Nimr al-Nimr, while in the Pakistani capital 1,500 people rallied against his execution. The festering diplomatic crisis between the Middle East’s leading Sunni and Shiite Muslim powers has raised sectarian tensions across the region and complicated efforts to resolve conflicts in Syria and Yemen.
