Brazil high court to decide Thursday on Rousseff impeachment proceedings

Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff in Brasilia on December 16, 2015Brasília (AFP) – Brazil’s Supreme Court said it delayed until Thursday the next step in a case that could lead President Dilma Rousseff’s impeachment. The march towards the unpopular president’s possible ouster was stalled by Rousseff’s allies in Congress, who say that opposition legislators violated the constitution in their rush towards impeachment. If the high court agrees, it could tell Congress to re-start the case against Rousseff.
