Chile leader, UN call on gender inequality by 2030

Chilean leader Michelle Bachelet led calls to eliminate gender inequality by 2030 on Saturday as a two-day meeting of the United Nations Women organization wrapped up in Santiago. Bachelet and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon concluded the meeting by signing a “call to action” which declares 2015 as a pivotal year in the fight to achieve global gender equality. The rallying cry also called for and end to the “funding gap” of gender inequality.
