Colombia halts FARC negotiator visits

Colombian FARC leftist guerrillas pose for a photo in the village of El Conejo, La Guajira, Colombia, on February 18, 2016President Juan Manuel Santos has suspended visits to Colombia by FARC negotiators saying they breached an agreement that allowed them in to explain to their fighters agreements reached during peace talks in Cuba. Santos initiated the ban last year after guerrilla leaders met with local residents and participated in public events during their last visit, despite restrictions on such activities. “This was an unacceptable violation,” chief government negotiator Humberto de la Calle said, speaking from the Narino presidential palace in Bogota.
