Erdogan condemns US support of Kurdish militias in Syria

US special operations forces, photographed in Syria on May 25, 2016, wearing the insignia of Kurdish troops have been ordered to remove the patchesTurkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday condemned the United States’ support of Kurdish fighters in Syria after AFP pictures revealed US commandos wearing the insignia of a militia branded a terror group by Ankara. “The support they give to… the YPG (militia)… I condemn it,” said Erdogan. Erdogan’s comments came after an AFP photographer captured images of US troops in Syria wearing insignia of the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG).
