Eurozone business activity strengthens in October

Eurozone economic activity has strengthened in October, a key business survey showsData monitoring company Markit said its closely watched composite Purchasing Managers Index rose to 54 points compared with 53.6 points in September, well above the 50-point boom-or-bust line. “The PMI brings welcome news that the eurozone economy picked up some momentum in October. With new business growing at the fastest rate for six months, firms were encouraged to boost staffing levels again,” Markit chief economist Chris Williamson said in a statement.
