French growth revised up to 0.6% in first quarter

Household consumption made a positive 0.5 percentage point increaseFrance’s economy grew by 0.6 percent in the first quarter of this year, the national statistics agency Insee said Wednesday, revising up its initial estimate by a tenth of a percentage point. The stronger growth hasn’t helped reduce the public deficit, which came in at 4.0 percent of GDP in the first quarter, compared to 3.9 percent in the last quarter of 2014.
