Germany doubts Greek bailout deal this month: report

Greece needs a deal that will unlock bailout funds by August 20, when it must repay some 3.4 billion euros ($3.7 billion) due to the European Central BankGermany is growing increasingly dubious that a deal on a third bailout for Greece can be sealed this month, the daily Bild reported on Thursday citing a government source. European Commission head Jean-Claude Juncker told AFP in an interview Wednesday that he believed an agreement was likely this month, “preferably before the 20th”. A Commission spokeswoman repeated those remarks on Thursday when asked about the Bild report, insisting that satisfactory progress was being made in the negotiations.
