Gov. Pat McCrory Concedes NC Governor's Race to Democratic Challenger Roy CooperWeeks after Election Day and after requesting a recount, Republican incumbent Pat McCrory conceded the North Carolina gubernatorial race to his Democratic challenger, Roy Cooper. “Despite continued questions that should be answered regarding the voting process, I personally believe that the majority of our citizens have spoken and we now should do everything we can to support the 75th governor of North Carolina, Roy Cooper,” McCrory said in a video released Monday by his office. Cooper won 49 percent of the vote, with McCrory close behind at 48.9 percent.
