House Republican Criticizes Donald Trump Over Potential Business Conflicts of InterestWhile his Republican colleagues have largely held their tongues since Donald Trump won the presidential election, Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan called out the president-elect after Trump suggested people shouldn’t be surprised that his business interests could conflict with his position in the White House. Amash, who called for Trump to end his candidacy after a 2005 video surfaced of him making lewd comments about women, took to Trump’s preferred communication platform, Twitter, to criticize him. Amash, who is part of a more libertarian wing of the House Republican conference, first endorsed Sen. Rand Paul in the presidential race and then Sen. Ted Cruz after Paul dropped out.
