House to Vote on 9/11 Lawsuit Bill Ahead of Sept. 11 AnniversaryThe House will vote later this week on a bill that would allow 9/11 victims’ families to sue Saudi Arabia in U.S. court, according to a House GOP leadership aide. Saudi Arabia has criticized the bill, which was passed by a voice vote in the Senate in May. President Obama is expected to veto the measure, known as the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act. Chuck Schumer, D-New York, and John Cornyn, R-Texas, would give families of 9/11 victims the ability to sue Saudi Arabia for any alleged role in the 2001 terror attacks.
