Jamaica Bobsled Team Meets Sochi 'Crowdfunding' Goal with Help from Digital Currency

The Jamaican bobsled team will be able to compete at the Sochi Winter Olympics because of donations they received through crowdfunding. And the digital currency dogecoin pushed them past their fundraising goal.

The team has raised over $115,000 on Crowdtilt.com, surpassing the $80,000 needed for them to compete at Sochi. Team Jamaica qualified for the Winter Olympics for the first time since 2002 over the weekend.

Winston Watt, a Jamaican-American who also competed in 2002 Winter Games, and Marvin Dixon, the brakeman, make up the two-man team.
