Kerry slams Beijing's 'militarization' in South China Sea

The island of Yongxing, also known as Woody island, in the disputed Paracel chain, on which China has deployed surface-to-air missiles according to the United StatesUS Secretary of State John Kerry has slammed China for its increased “militarization” in the strategically important South China Sea, after Beijing deployed surface-to-air missiles on a disputed island there. “There is every evidence, every day, that there has been an increase of militarization of one kind or another. It’s of a serious concern,” Kerry told reporters on Wednesday.
