Man blows himself up in Belgrade bakery: police

Serb authorities say there could be several hundred thousand unregistered weapons remaining from the 1990s Balkan warsA man blew himself up in a bakery in the centre of the Serbian capital Belgrade on Monday, police said, adding that the blast did not appear to be terror-related. “An unknown man was killed today at around 12:38 pm (1138 GMT) on Ilije Garasanina street after he activated an explosive device in a cake shop,” a police statement said. A later police statement said the probe so far “shows that this was not a terrorist attack, because before the activation of the device the man asked two employees and one shopper to leave”.
