Obama says he is confident Congress will approve TPP

U.S. President Barack Obama said on Tuesday that he is confident his administration will be able to win approval from Congress for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal. The United States is one of 12 Pacific Rim nations to reach a pact this week that would liberalize commerce, affecting the costs of products ranging from dairy to biotech drugs. Obama will have to overcome skepticism from Democrats in his own party as well as from some Republicans.
