Retired policeman released in fake Air France bomb case: prosecutor

Passengers walk at Moi International Airport in Mombasa as their Air France flight from Mauritius to Paris is grounded after a suspected bomb was found on board on December 20, 2015French police on Monday released from custody a retired policeman they had held over the discovery of a fake bomb on board an Air France flight that made an emergency landing in Kenya, prosecutors said. “The current state of the investigation does not justify continuing custody”, the prosecutor in Bobigny north of Paris told AFP, while a legal source said the suspect’s release did not mean he has been cleared of suspicion. The 58-year-old man was taken into custody by border police upon his return to France while his wife was also questioned as a witness, a day after their flight from Mauritius to Paris was diverted to Kenya, a legal source said earlier.
