Two Million in Aleppo at Possible Health Risk, UN Calls for CeasefireThe United Nations has urgently called for a ceasefire in Aleppo, Syria in order to provide much-needed humanitarian assistance to the more than two million civilians left without electricity or access to water, following a series of attacks on civilian infrastructure. The U.N. called for a “full-fledged ceasefire” or a “weekly 48-hour humanitarian pause,” at minimum, in order to provide food and medicine to the millions of people in the war-weary Syrian city. The attacks on civilian infrastructure have left millions without access to the public water network.
