US economy grew more than expected in third quarter

US GDP rose at an annual rate of 2.1 percent in the July to September quarterThe US economy expanded more than expected in the third quarter but growth remained well below the pace of the second quarter, according to Commerce Department data released Tuesday. In the July to September quarter, gross domestic product — the broad measure of the economy’s output of goods and services — rose at a revised annual rate of 2.1 percent, stronger than the 1.5 percent pace initially estimated.
