US inflation steadies in April

US consumer prices edged up only slightly in April, with food prices remaining flatUS consumer prices barely edged higher in April as energy prices tumbled and food prices were flat, the Labor Department reported Friday. The consumer price index increased 0.1 percent in April from March, when the CPI rose 0.2 percent for the second month in a row. The CPI was down 0.2 percent from April 2014, following a 0.1 percent decline in March.
