What we know about Russia's alleged hacking of US vote

US President Barack Obama made good on a promise to punish Vladimir Putin's government for allegedly trying to tilt the 2016 US electionThe US and Russia have become embroiled in a Cold-War-style diplomatic spat over alleged cyberattacks Washington believes were carried out by Moscow in an attempt to skew the US election. US President Obama announced the expulsion of 35 Russian diplomats in response but in a dramatic move, his counterpart Vladimir Putin said he would not retaliate but assess Obama’s successor’s policy towards Moscow. Russia has consistently denied it was behind the alleged hacking and insists Washington has never provided any firm proof of its guilt.
