Who won the presidential debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney

Who won last night’s debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney?  The PoliticIt team used some tools from our new PoliticIt Politician software to analyze the debate.  Here are the results:


It Score Analysis


Obama’s It Score fell 1.9 points during the debate while Romney’s It Score increased roughly 0.2 points.  This suggests that Obama took a big hit during the debate while Romney enjoyed a slight boost.  The It Score is a measure of digital influence that has been used to correctly predict more than 300 primary races in the last 3 months with 90% accuracy.  The It Score is calculated by analyzing what people do and say in the internet with a machine learning algorithm.

The above screen shots show that at the beginning of the debate Obama and Romney had about equal retweets, but Obama had about twice as much conversation circulating about him relative to Romney.
